  • What are the guidelines for Assisted Living?

    Reach for the helping hand of Assisted Living at Covenant Village of Florida if you are at least 62 years of age, and you require no more than one person to assist with the activities of daily living.

  • Who determines the proper transition plan should a resident need to move to another level in the Continuum of Care?

    The Transition Team drives the process in partnership with the resident(s), their family and physician to make the best possible informed decision to ensure a successful transition for resident(s).

  • What are the guidelines for Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation under Medicare?

    • For Medicare coverage, an individual must have a qualifying stay for three consecutive midnights in the hospital.
    • The individual requires skilled nursing services and/or skilled rehabilitation services provided daily.
    • Services must be reasonable and necessary, consistent with the nature and severity of the medical illness and reasonable in terms of duration and quantity.
    • A physician must confirm that there is a need for daily Skilled Nursing and/or Rehabilitation care.

  • Who is primarily responsible for health care and medical services in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing?

    The Health Care Administrator is responsible for medical decisions. The Health Care Administrator is primarily responsible for health care and medical services in Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living.

  • How does “health care” work in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing?

    We provide medical care and assistance based on the level required to keep residents physically safe and medically stable.

  • How does my Primary Care Physician fit into my health care program at Covenant Village of Florida?

    Your primary care physician can come and visit you at Covenant Village of Florida once your physician is credentialed and approved.

  • What happens when an Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing resident requires hospitalization?

    If it’s not an emergency, the doctor writes the order for the resident to be sent to the hospital and the family is notified. In an emergency situation, the resident is immediately sent to the hospital, and then the doctor and family are notified.

  • How does medical insurance coverage work?

    We accept the following types of medical insurance at Covenant Village of Florida:

    • Medicare and private health Insurance, and long-term care insurance in our Skilled Nursing residence
    • Private health insurance or long-term care Insurance (Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, etc.) Pre-authorization and pre-approval are needed first.    
    • Medicare, for those who meet Medicare guidelines. Medicare Part A helps pay for care in a hospital, a skilled nursing facility, home health and hospice care. Medicare Part B helps pay for doctor bills, outpatient hospital care, equipment, supplies, and various medical services. Medicare Part D helps pay for prescription drug costs.

     

  • Are there any Social Service offerings or programming at Covenant Village of Florida:

    Yes, social services are provided in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing to assist with transitions.

Assisted Living Sales Process
  • If I am interested in living in your Assisted Living community at Covenant Village of Florida, where should I begin?

  • Who can help me through this process?

    Our Assisted Living Sales representative will be happy to assist you.

  • What kind of Assisted Living contract does your community offer?

    Our Assisted Living community is on a month-to-month contract. The monthly fee is based on the level of care you need.

  • What is included in my Assisted Living contract?

    Your contract includes:

    • Three meals a day
    • Weekly housekeeping
    • Studio apartment
    • Activities
    • Pastoral care
    • Cable television and wireless internet
    • Nurse and certified nursing assistance available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
    • Additional services available
  • Once I select an apartment and contract, what is the next step?

    You will need to complete an application form for residency, and your physician needs to complete and sign the physician assessment.

  • How quickly am I able to move in to my new apartment in Assisted Living?

    Once the documents are signed, moving in can begin.

  • What if I am unable or not ready to move in immediately?

    We can put you on a waiting list and you can let us know when you are ready. We will also gladly work with you to provide you with resources and information to help in the process.

Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation
  • If I am interested in living in your Skilled Nursing or Rehabilitation, where should I begin?

  • Who can help me through this process?

    Our Referral Liaison will assist you in the process by visiting you in the hospital or at home to explain your insurance benefits and to ensure a smooth transition to our Skilled Nursing residence.

  • What is included in Skilled Nursing or Rehabilitation?

    We offer:

    • 24-hour nursing care
    • Social services
    • Pastoral care
    • Activities
    • Meals and snacks
    • Dietitian services
    • Physical, occupational and speech therapy, among other services
  • How quickly am I able to move in to my new apartment in Skilled Nursing or Rehabilitation?

    Once we receive your medical information and your insurance is approved, you can proceed with the moving process.

  • What if I am unable or not ready to move in immediately?

    We can put you on a waiting list and you can let us know when you are ready. We will also gladly work with you to provide you with resources and information to help in the process.

Financial Planning
  • Can I, or a loved one afford to live at Covenant Village of Florida?

    You will meet with one of our sales representatives to discuss what your needs are. We can help you determine if there is a comfortable financial fit for you, based on our application process.

  • What is there to do once I make the move to Covenant Village of Florida? Will I remain active?

    You will have access to a wide variety of offerings as a resident of Covenant Village of Florida. We believe in Lifelong Learning for our residents, and it is largely driven by and for our resident body. Residents at Covenant Village of Florida are welcome to engage in any and all of the many educational, social, spiritual and wellness programs we offer as little or as much as they desire. You can be as active as you like at Covenant Village of Florida!

  • Are there religious activities I can choose to participate in?

    Yes, Covenant Village of Florida residents can participate in a wide array of various faith-based activities, which they coordinate.

  • What about those who have visual impairments? Do you have programming available on campus for them?

    We offer large print books in our main library, as well as an assistive large-screen magnification reader and books on tape.

  • What creative arts (painting, sketching, drawing, etc.) programming do you offer residents on campus?

    We offer a large variety of creative arts in our artists’ studio, from painting to pottery in our kiln, jewelry making and woodworking on the lathe in our woodworking shop.

  • Why should I make the move with my spouse to your community now?

Keep in mind, you do not have to be a current resident of our retirement community to benefit from our Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing or short-term Rehabilitation services, nor will you have to pay an entrance fee to enter one of the areas noted above. In our short-term Rehabilitation program, we accept Medicare and are in-network providers for a number of managed care and Medicare Advantage programs.
